Confirmed Coronavirus Update

Updated: Monday 27th July, 2020

Centre Management was advised Monday 27th July, that a cleaner has tested positive to COVID-19, and has been self-isolating since receiving their test.  The cleaner’s usual shift is between 4am and 7am, focusing on the external component of the Shopping Centre only, primarily being the carpark.  As the safety of our community is our main priority, any area that the individual may have been exposed to is undergoing a deep clean and is not accessible to the general public.

Endeavour Hills Shopping Centre also notified the public of three (3) confirmed cases the week commencing Monday 13th July, of Coronavirus (COVID-19) at 2 retail stores. One at UR Next Hairdressing and two cases at Kmart Endeavour Hills.

Kmart advised Centre Management of their first case of a staff member who last worked on Thursday 9th July, whilst the second case had their last shift on Friday 10th July. While awaiting their test results, the staff members were self-isolating at home.

Kmart Endeavour Hills closed for a deep clean during the week, as a result of a positive test to COVID-19. For further information, please contact the Kmart store on (03) 8784 3300, or Kmart Head office on 1800 124 125.

A staff member from UR Next Hairdressing was tested on Friday 3rd July and received a positive result late on Thursday 9th July. The store was subsequently closed from Friday 10th July for cleaning. The store re-opened Saturday 18th July after adhering to advice from the Department of Health & Human Services Victoria (DHHS).

All staff and customers who came in close contact with the staff members have been contacted by the Department of Health & Human Services Victoria (DHHS).

Please be assured that our community’s safety and wellbeing are our top priority. We will continue to monitor and act upon recommendations we receive from the state health departments.

Throughout the unfolding of COVID-19, we have prioritised increased cleaning and disinfection, including a nightly disinfectant and sterilisation clean of the centre, as well as increased cleaning protocols throughout the day around touch points and high traffic areas.

The advice from authorities is for anyone showing signs of an infectious disease, including fever, sweats or chills, to seek testing immediately. For the latest health advice, and to stay informed, we recommend visiting https://www.vic.gov.au/coronavirus
